Welcome to the Big Bear High School Counseling web page. We are committed to providing a comprehensive guidance program that will assist all students in acquiring the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners. The program addresses the personal/social, educational and career needs of all students.
Office Hours
Monday - Friday 7:30-3:00
We encourage students to see their counselor before school, after school, at lunch, or during passing periods. However, to make an appointment with a counselor, please do one of the following:
- Fill out our counseling request form found in the counseling office.
- Email or call your counselor directly
2022-2023
Ms. Barbosa is in charge of the 10th and 12th grade students.
Mr. Benson is in charge of the 9th and 11th grade students.
Please read this important message from the Counseling Office at Big Bear High School.
Students and parents, we'd like you to know that Mr. Benson and Ms. Barbosa will still be available during this time, you simply need to email your counselor. For questions or concerns regarding class assignments and/or grades, please contact the appropriate teacher directly. If, on the other hand, you 'd like to talk to someone, are feeling isolated, alone, or stressed please email your counselor and provide the best way to contact you. Mr. Benson and Ms. Barbosa will be checking their email regularly during normal school office hours, 7:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. If you need assistance after hours, we hope you will contact the D.M.C.C. hotline at 760-946-5135. We have also added some additional resources we think you may find helpful to the Big Bear High School website under the Counseling Department page.
